about

In The Red Forest was the first song I recorded for the album back in May 2022, this is about the large forest in Pripyat, the trees turned red due to radiation, the song has a strong melody and warm sounds, it’s probably the saddest song on the album, the voice parts created using text to speech software fits perfectly, in both the delivery of the lyrics, and the expression of the voice. It was actually the lyric that came first and the song was constructed around that, definitely a big OMD influence on this song.

lyrics

In the red forest
Buildings decay
Changing the landscape
From day to day

No sign of life
Silent and grey
Darkness is falling
The sun fades away
