Acute Radiation Syndrome was the final song recorded for the album, I worked on this song for a while, and changed the arrangement I had originally recorded, on the demo. When recording the final version, I scrapped what I had, because the sounds created and used, just didn’t do the song justice, so I didn’t work on it for a few days, then returned to it fully energized, and with renewed creative spark!

The original melody came to me one morning, when I woke up, I have no idea why I have ideas that come into my head at the strangest times.
The song is about the acute illness caused by radiation exposure in the whole of the body, quite a sobering topic, but needed to be covered on this album.

A very melodic song, despite the subject matter of the track.

If a person is exposed
To more than 700 milli-gray
Of absorbed radiation
Within a short period of time
Usually, minutes
Common Acute radiation syndrome symptoms
Include nausea vomiting headaches burns and fever

Radiation doses between
4000 and 5000 milli-gray
Within a short period
Would kill 50% of those exposed
The firefighters who died
After attending the incident
Were exposed to up to 20,000 milli-gray
Of absorbed radiation
